2010 Irish Day T- Shirts, featuring Hope Perigo's winning theme, will be for sale at Erin City Hall and the Chamber Office. They will also be for sale at the Kick Off Breakfast on March the 13th.
Limited shirts in adult sizes are available for $10. Don't WAIT to get yours!!
Congratulations to Hope. She has captured the essence of the festival and submitted beautiful artwork that ties it all together. Her theme will be featured throughout our Irish Day celebration and on our 2010 T Shirts. Hope also wins $50.00 in prize money, two tickets to the Irish Banquet, she will ride in the Irish Day Parade.

Irish Day Preparations

The Library Leprechauns enjoyed Dr. Seuss stories read by Michael Rodriquez celebrating Dr. Seuss' week.
Then they got down to the business of decorations for Irish Week.
All Leprechauns around the County are invited to help kick off the Irish Celebration Week on Friday, March 12th at Erin City Hall; as the announcement of the 2010 Lord High Mayor and Emerald Award recipients are named. Leprechauns are need to welcome folks to the event and send Irish Blessings to all the crowd. Please join us at 8:30 a.m. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Kay at the Library 931-289-3858.
Don't forget the Leprechaun Parade on Saturday, March 20th. It leaves from the Erin Nazarene Church parking lot at 10:30 a.m.

Ed Butcher is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of his Yards -N- Yarns store in TN Ridge. As well as many of the county's residents are tickled to have a place to buy gorgeous yards of fabric and colorful yarns as well as numerous notions....

Leprechaun Parade

Young Leprechauns are invited to help lead the parade.
They will leave from the Erin Nazarene church ahead of the Grand Parade.
Judging will begin at 10:45 am, so parents need to arrive before that.
There will be no last minute entries or judging. Leprechauns
will be judged according to costume and/or ride.
Traditions First Bank is sponsoring the Toys R Us gift cards for prizes.
No gas powered vehicles will be permitted. 6 prizes will be awarded.
Erin Church of the Nazarene will be hosting a pancake breakfast that
morning, so if anyone would like to arrive early, they are more than welcome
to come eat. All money benefit the teen ministries and their projects.

5K Walk/ Run & Biathlon- Waverly, TN
Support the Waverly Lions Club in their 5K Walk Run & the 5K / 25K Biathlon.
Promoted as the "Flattest Race in Tennessee", proceeds from this race benefit the Lions Club sight conservation projects, local community sight assistance and community youth support.

Downtown Revitalization
The Downtown Erin Revitalization project has begun. We are all excited to see the final out come of this project.
Thanks to Mrs Kay our FABULOUS librarian.... this is a photo of the Courthouse in the 1950's.
The facade is to be a replica of the center front of the original courthouse.

FCE Happenings
The FCE 100% Luncheon, Cultural Arts, and Reading Program is to be held March 24 at Erin City Hall beginning at 11 AM. The guest speaker is Pam Smith from the Back to the Land Store, and afternoon entertainment is Debbie Schmidt and Janessa Parchman. Call 289-32425 for information. The program is open to the public. FCE is sponsored by Houston County UT Extension.
Crayon Creations will be held March 25th after school at Erin City Hall. Participants must bring a white cotton t-shirt. Call UT Extension office 289-3242 to enroll by March 23. Shelia Settles |
