Houston County Lions Club
Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month
at 6:30 p.m. at Fitz's Restaurant at the corner of Hwys 13 and 49.
The Houston County Lions Club works to serve the needs of the community in many different ways. Although, the emphasis is on vision:
- helping the needy with eye exams and glasses
- testing eyesight of school-age children and preschoolers over the age of 12 months
- collecting used glasses for recycling
The club also supports the
- Houston County Area Chamber of Commerce,
- Imagination Library,
- Houston County High School Arts program,
- Houston County High School Academic Banquet,
- a competitive scholarship program
Eye Glass collection boxes can be found throughout the county in many local business such as Fred’s, Cleghern’s Piggly Wiggly, Sav-A-Lot and Curves. Look for a box with a logo like the one you see at the top of the page.
Applications and information regarding eye exams are available at the Houston County Public Library.
